Carcraft project has created a Minecraft simulation game for car mechanics!

Carcraft is an innovative aproach to VET education born after experiencing the effects that the COVID pandemic lockdowns had in education.

According to UNESCO, over 1,5 billion learners were affected by COVID in the more than 170 countries that decided to close schools as a response to the spread of the virus. Europe had to quickly adjust to this new educational reality: schools adapted and delivered courses and training remotely (not always successfully), but neither teachers nor students were prepared for the transition.

And thus, Carcraft was born to support VET students continue their education when they cannot attend classes!

Carcraft takes place in the blockey and squarey world of Minecraft, an already existing and popular game. Minecraft is a virtual open world video game where players can dig, mine, build, craft and enchant things among other things. The game is typically described as a “sandbox game” because players can interact with their own worlds and experiences where the possibilities are truly limitless. Players can also modify the game to create new gameplay mechanics, items, and assets.

Carcraft takes advantage of the Education edition of Minecraft designed specifically for use in educational establishments. This version includes the Classroom Mode, which can be used to access a range of features especially designed to interact with students while hosting a multiplayer game by managing settings from a central user interface.
