Academy of the young confectioner and the young baker

Baseline / problem

In the Secondary School of Food Industry in Lodz from 1st February 2012, the two POKL projects are implemented: "Academy of the young confectioner" and "Academy of the young baker". These are partnerships in which partner is the Chamber of Crafts.
The aim of the project is :
- Participation of students in the classes organized like professional training, and by the masters in the profession (respectively, confectioner and baker )
- Conducting workshops on personal effectiveness ,
- To carry out additional specialized courses using modern teaching materials to ensure high quality training,
- To familiarize students with modern techniques and technologies through participation in exhibitions, fairs, seminars.

Good practice: (Measures, instruments, criteria, indicators)

The projects included a certification procedure. It will shape skills of students such as : production banquette cookies, shaping elements with chocolate, caramel, butter, sugar, production of pralines, cakes occasional production order, the formation of fine bakery products, bakery products shaping events.

Problems and constraints encountered and solutions found:

The estimated effects of the implementation of this form is formation of professional skills. It concerns pastry and bakery extracurricular activities and trainings conducted by professional training companies and the masters in the profession. All students will get certificates confirming the obtained skills. Facilitating access to the labor market through knowledge and proven skills.
